Reboot a Day
/Ever have a day you wish you could start over? You woke up late, no coffee, rushing to get dressed for work, out of toothpaste, and of course the car needed gas. Every traffic light was red. You shout, “I need a reboot.”
We all have days like that. You wanted to wake up from the nightmare and start over. We can’t re-live a day that has passed or start over one we don’t like. We must take each day as it comes; some are good and some are bad. Life on earth is not easy. If we take one day at a time, it’s manageable.
Because of Jesus Christ, we can have a new beginning. Each day is a new page to write our life on, if we follow Christ. “Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come” (2 Corinthians 5: 17).
The problems of today are temporary; Christ is eternal. “So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal” (2 Corinthians 4:18).
Even though our time on earth is short…we are not expected to stand around and wait to be called home. Our primary purpose on earth is to help our fellowman. and spread the good news of Jesus Christ to as many people as possible,
God gives us each day only once. We must make the most of it. Yesterday is a memory: tomorrow is a vision of hope and promise. Today is what we have. Don’t waste it being sad, disagreeable or unpleasant. The mistakes of the past cannot be changed, but we can learn not to repeat them.
We are helpless without God‘s presence in our life. When others see us, let them find the face of Jesus shining in our smile, the love of God in our voice and the promise of hope in our message.
If our day starts with burned toast and weak coffee; it’s only one day. Each day is a new beginning. No matter how bad a day starts, God is still in control. He may have an amazing day planned for you. Expect it, and smile knowing His love and grace will sustain you through the most difficult times. Sunshine always follows the rain.
Knowing we can face each new day with a renewed spirit of obedience, trust, faith and humility is a comforting thought. Our journey into the future is obscure, but God has a plan for us, if we take one day at a time; “Fear not tomorrow, God is already there.”
