Harry McCoy’s Book “God Speaks We Listen” is a refreshing look at how God speaks to us today through the Holy Spirit and touches upon some of the ways God has spoken to some of the Prophets and Disciples of Christ through the book. Harry shared some of the faith principles that we must have through pointing to the scriptures for confirmation that God is working and that we, as Christians must lead others to Christ.

Harry McCoy points out that God gives us hope, even when we have given up and he quotes: “Hope is founded on faith in Jesus Christ. Harry gives us some insight into his life and lessons that God had taught him through the book.

I recommend this book for anyone who is seeking a relationship with God.

Dear Harry,

I just finished reading your book. You did an excellent job. The chapters were encouraging, faith-promoting, and insightful.

I think my favorite chapters were “Seeing God if We Look and listen,” and “First Light.”

I especially enjoyed the descriptions of your childhood with your parents; also, loved your use of analogies. For example, “As a small child reaches up to take the hand of an adult, so we should reach for God, our Heavenly Father.” All of a sudden it made me remember how comforting it was when, as a child, I pushed my small hand into the larger hand of an adult and how secure it made me feel. It nearly brought me to tears when I thought about the same feeling of being in God's hands.

All in all, the many ways you suggested on how to listen for God, both in nature and the Word, were excellent. Your book will renew the faith of even long-time Christians, give hope to non-Christians, and to both, a comforting concept of how and what to listen for that combats the idea that the only way to hear from God is a booming voice from heaven.

Thanks so much for sending it to me. I plan to loan it to my 29-year-old granddaughter. She’s a Christian, but just recommitted her life so is just starting out on her faith journey.
